Product description
Romantic drama. When Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) travels to Verona in Italy, she stumbles upon an age-old superstition whereby people seeking advice in matters of the heart leave letters in the courtyard of the fictional Juliet, which are then answered by a group of volunteers known as the 'secretaries of Juliet'. When Sophie replies to one letter that has remained unanswered for 50 years, she is amazed when its author, Claire (Vanessa Redgrave), arrives in Italy with her grandson Charlie (Christopher Egan) to track down the fiance she left behind decades before. Sophie joins them on their quest through the hills of Tuscany as they search for Lorenzo, Claire's long-lost love - and soon finds herself tumbling headlong into a romance of her own.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 May 2023You can’t go wrong with anything where Italy is involved really. Beautiful countryside and Verona is very beautiful (I’ve been several times and is truly is). Amanda Seyfried is always nice to watch as she has a nice on-screen presence that’s convincing but not overwhelming and this is a beautiful story of love lost and found again.
As is a true story, women all over the world leave a letter to Juliet when they visit Verona and these letters are collected and individually answered by a small group of devoted women. In the film, writer Sophie sees the letters being collected and follows the woman to an apartment to see what’s going on. She joins The Juliet Club, answering letters and one letter in particular touches her so much that she wants to help. She answers the letter and ends up meeting the writer, Claire who lost touch with her lover, Italian boy Lorenzo, almost 5” years earlier. With the somewhat reluctant help of Clare’s grandson, Charlie, the three of them search the area looking for Lorenzo and after meeting a bunch of incorrect Lorenzo’s, a chance encounter gives them new hope.
Beautifully told and inspired by a true story, it’s. A must-see for romantics everywhere.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 May 2024Sat in on a Sunday night with our adult daughter and really enjoyed this charming film.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 October 2018I like some cheese in my romantic comedies and I'm not afraid to admit that. I watched this hoping for a nice fluffy movie and legitimately enjoyed much of it. If I could give it a 2.5 I would. The problem is that it was just kind of really bad. The bad script and acting were very hard to get past, but trust me I tried and was admittedly still left with that feel-good ending feeling. I don't often say this about the chick flicks I subject myself to in good conscience and as a fully consenting adult, but this one was just. too. cheesy. The best part of this movie was the scenery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Preciosa historia
100% recomendada.

5.0 out of 5 stars Die größte Liebesgeschichte aller Zeiten ist Deine eigene!

5.0 out of 5 stars
